Li Yueru concludes home stand with historic WOQT-record 23 rebounds

XI’AN (China) – Li Yueru and wrapped up their home stand at the FIBA Women’s Olympic Qualifying Tournament 2024 in Xi’An on a high note.

As a team, China were able to continue the celebration of qualifying for a sixth straight Olympic Games appearance with a massive win over Puerto Rico, 105-96.

On an individual level, Li recorded a massive stat line of 22 points, 23 rebounds, and 3 blocked shots for an EFF rating of 38.

Her 23-rebound performance stands as the most by a player in a Women’s Olympic Qualifying Tournament since 2008 and is also the first game in which a player scored at least 20 points and grabbed at least 20 rebounds.

It is only the third time that a player has grabbed at least 20 rebounds with the other two times being Australia’s Liz Cambage in 2020 and Czech Republic’s Petra Kulichová in 2012.
